Hi all ! I have owned a Picasso C4 1.6e-HDI Exclusive 65 plate since January, now on 18,500 miles It is due its 2 year Service in September and when I bought it from Evans Halshaw I bought a 3 year Service Plan so this entitles me to the basic service this year (no MOT due til 2018 of course and it is still under Citroen warranty).

Add 0,5 additional litres of oil in the gearbox. Repeat the top-up procedure. N.B. : The level of oil is correct when the stream of oil becomes drop by drop. Refit the oil level plug ( 3) (equipped with a new seal) Tighten to 2,4 daN.m. 4.3. Check the oil level (continued) Refit the filler plug ( 2) (equipped with a new seal) Tighten to 2,4 daN.m.

My 1.6 HDi Manual Gearbox has it. It works a treat. No need to apply any 'special' pressure to the pedal. I just hold the car on a slope with the footbrake, then release, and all the time it takes to move to the throttle and then find the biting point on the clutch, it holds the car.

The old part number is 6450XZ, the new part number is 1607044080 from a Citroen or Peugeot dealer (they can both order it, my Citroen dealer had it in stock!). You will need the part number as my dealer hadn't heard of the fault (but had the part on the shelf?).

This is not a fault I can just talk you through as it needs first all the wiring checking and continuty checks then pin signal checking to and from various control modules it will need to go to Citroen dealer or an auto electrical specialist to resolve this problem. Pop the VIN up (automasked) so we know exactly what you have, but U1209 generally means that the communication between the gearbox ECU and the ESP ECU is missing, which points to a fault with the Automatic Gearbox ECU or a wiring connection somewhere along the network.
