It's a non runner. Maybe I was foolish buying this car as it doesn't start at all. When I scanned it it comes up with camshaft position sensor P0341. Question is where is the sensor on the engine? When turning the car over it sounds like no compression does that mean timing belt has gone and time to get a Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) The CMP scans a reference cam on the camshaft. The CMP sends an alternating voltage signal to the PCM. This indicates the firing position of No1 cylinder. This is only used when starting starting. after that the (PIP) signal takes over to control the injectors. Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) The CKP sensor is P0167 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 2 Sensor 3) - N/A to diesel PATS code 23 - ID mismatch Code - Problem could be Key not recognised / Transceiver (black ring around ign barrel) or PCM fault. 2007 Ford Mondeo mk4 1.8 TDCI - ( RETROFIT IN PROGRESS ) 2004 Jaguar X-Type 3.0 V6 AWD - ( FACELIFT COMPLETED ) IDS & GM GDS2 services SUBCRIBE http Okay, so I bit the bullet and forked out £75 for a genuine Ford sensor and it made absolutely no difference whatsoever , I've been told the fault could be anything from a dodgy connection in the wiring loom to an ECU fault, so have decided to cut our losses and have just part-exchanged the car against another one !! Possible causes : An electrical fault in the Turbocharger control circuit. MAP sensor electrical failure. Inspect connectors for signs of damage, water ingress, corrosion, etc. If the code is set at idle renew the turbocharger. If the code is not set at idle investigate faults with the MAP. My 09 tdci Mondeo MK4 has a strange temperature gauge issue. Sometimes it will appear ok (it never goes past halfway) but most other times not really. Usually it will warm up fairly slowly and only get up to halfway when at speed (60+), slowly dropping down to 1/4 or just below when encountering towns/traffic and driving at a lower speed, but True Ford Enthusiast. 3.6k. I have now pulled the engine back out of the car. I will double check the valve timing first. Top. Re: Crankshaft Sensor Problem? amongst other things. by Altransit » Tue Apr 22, 2014 10:56 pm. It could be that the engine "thinks" that it's overheating, so may just need a new temperature sensor. Another possibility is that the splines on the water pump are faulty, and it's not circulating the coolant properly. Cam and crank sensor ok, measured with multimeter but seemed fine. Other than waiting for the compression and leak-off test sets, I don't know what to do.
